Habitat’s Rapid Homestead Program Brings “Home” to a Family in Cornelius.
A family of five is moving into their new Habitat for Humanity home in Cornelius, Oregon this month, celebrated by West Tuality Habitat for Humanity staff and volunteers, their extended family and neighbors. Their home is part of West Tuality Habitat’s Rapid Homesteads project to provide brand new, double-wide, energy efficient mobile homes on rural lots to participating households selected from West Tuality’s Homeownership Readiness program. More than 50 volunteers participated in preparing this property for the Stephens' home, including students from Catlin Gabel School and Pacific University, our long-term core volunteers and members of at least three other Habitat partner families.
Repair issues can cascade into even greater complications for vulnerable homeowners.
Habitat for Humanity programs are focused on everyone having a safe, affordable place to call home, and our critical home repair program is part of that focus. In this month’s blog, we profile the repairs we did for one homeowner, to illustrate the issues vulnerable homeowners can face and why West Tuality Habitat’s critical repair program is so important.
Volunteers: share your story on social media, be eligible to win a Habitat backpack!
From September through November, 2025, West Tuality Habitat volunteers, including volunteers in the ReStore, are invited to participate in Habitat for Humanity's social media giveaway. This is a nation-wide invitation to all Habitat affiliates, and the top five submissions each month will be sent a Habitat branded backpack and may be featured on Habitat for Humanity International’s social media channels! You enter by posting a photo or short video, and some text, to social media, and using a special tag. Our blog has all the details.
Show us your colors!
We have a page from the official Habitat for Humanity Adult Coloring Book ready for you to download, print out and color. When you are done with your creation, we want you to take a photo of yourself holding your finished page and send it to us at photos@westtualityhabitat.org and/or bring your page in to the Forest Grove ReStore so we can display it in the store!
