Exciting New Partnership with JTMF Foundation
West Tuality Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce an award of $100K from the JTMF Foundation to be used for critical home repairs and accessibility solutions for seniors in Western Washington County. As part of West Tuality Habitat’s Critical and Minor Home Repair program, this partnership will provide senior homeowners with essential, no-cost repairs that would otherwise be financially out of reach.
Repair services covered by the award include plumbing and electrical services, HVAC and ADA solutions, landscaping and exterior repairs. Several repairs have already been completed with JTMF funds, for example:
When a pipe burst in Ava's home during a winter freeze, her son was able to shut off the water and limit the immediate damage — but as a fixed-income homeowner, Ava had no way to cover the cost of professional repairs. Through the JTMF partnership, West Tuality Habitat repaired the broken pipe and replaced the damaged subfloor insulation at no cost to Ava, restoring full plumbing function to her home and protecting it against future weather-related deterioration.
Kevin, a senior veteran living on a fixed income, required an ADA-compliant accessibility ramp to safely enter and exit his home — a modification that was both financially and physically out of reach for him to manage alone. West Tuality Habitat volunteers, supported by JTMF Foundation funding, designed and constructed the ramp, ensuring Kevin can safely and independently access his home for years to come.
Repairs such as these are important not only to address critical safety issues and maintain the structural integrity of clients’ homes, but also to empower clients to age in place with dignity while preserving what is, for many, their most significant financial asset.
The JTMF Foundation was founded by John Marick and Greg Pryor of Consumer Cellular to improve the lives of people in need, with a particular focus on serving older adults.
