West Tuality Habitat for Humanity Receives $25,000 Grant from the Clark Foundation for Critical Home Repairs
[Forest Grove, Ore.] — West Tuality Habitat for Humanity announced today that it has been awarded a $25,000 grant from The Clark Foundation in Oregon to support its Critical Home Repair Program, which helps low-income homeowners make essential repairs to keep their homes safe, healthy, and habitable.
The grant will fund repairs such as roof replacements, accessibility modifications, plumbing and electrical fixes, and other urgent home improvements for families who might otherwise be unable to afford them. These repairs help homeowners — many of them seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities — remain safely in their homes.
"We are incredibly grateful to The Clark Foundation for this generous investment in our community," said Laura Altermatt, Executive Director, West Tuality Habitat for Humanity. "Critical home repairs can mean the difference between a family staying safely housed and facing displacement. This grant allows us to reach more of our neighbors who need help the most."
The Critical Home Repair Program is a core part of West Tuality Habitat for Humanity's mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. In addition to new home construction, the program addresses the urgent repair needs of existing homeowners in the community, helping to preserve affordable housing and prevent homelessness.
West Tuality Habitat for Humanity expects the funding to support critical repairs that will keep at least 5 households living in safety and security.
