2025 “Keys to Hope” Benefit Event Highlights
Community members turned out to support West Tuality Habitat for Humanity this year at our "Keys to Hope" Benefit Dinner & Auction on April 26, 2025 at the Forest Grove Senior & Community Center.
The West Tuality Habitat annual benefit event has a different theme each year, but is always about coming together as a community, celebrating the work of Habitat for Humanity here in Western Washington County, having fun, and fundraising for our work to help more people access homeownership and to help vulnerable homeowners with critical home repairs. Attendees enjoyed an amazing dinner; played games; bid on valuable and often unique items, such as an intricate wooden egg creation hand-carved and painted by Forest Grove artist Pat Truax (see below for photo); and participated in a raffle to win a beautiful hand-made quilt with the theme of home, created and donated by a group here in our community who call themselves the “Pilates Latte Ladies” (pictured with the quilt below).
At the bottom are a few photos from our very fun night. Feel free to tag yourself on photos we’ve shared on social media if you are in them!
Thank you to our event presenters, Wauna Credit Union , Heritage Bank and Portland General Electric and our sponsors, NW Natural, Forest Grove Dental Studio, First Community Credit Union, Five Star Builders, A & J Electric, and Urban River Spirits, who help to offset the event costs, which means more funds go into our home building and home repair programs. Wines were provided by David Hill Winery.
So many people and organizations to thank for helping make this year's benefit event a success:
- Centro Cultural de Washington County for providing the venue and all the tables and amenities needed and being so helpful!
- Members of two youth groups who helped serve at the event, the Cornelius Youth Advisory Council and Forest Grove High Cheerleading.
- The chef/kitchen team for the evening from Prestige Senior Living Beaverton Hills, which donated their services, led by one of our board members, Wolanda Groombridge .
It's not too late to donate and support the work of West Tuality Habitat right here in Western Washington County! We make donating easy: you can give a one-time gift, or set up a quarterly or monthly gift, starting at just $10 a quarter or a month.
West Tuality Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and was formed in 1991. In addition to the affordable housing program, West Tuality Habitat also has a critical home repair program for low-income households, seniors, military veterans, and people with disabilities, allowing them to remain in their homes and age in place. West Tuality Habitat also operates a ReStore in Forest Grove, selling gently-used, furniture, appliances, home furnishings and leftover building supplies. These sales help fund its Habitat activities in the area.
